Characteristics

The Tayberry is a cross between a blackberry and raspberry bred in 1962 in Scotland and named after the River Tay.  Tayberry is a cross between a blackberry and raspberry, bred in 1962 in Scotland and named after the River Tay.  The fruit is sweeter, larger and more aromatic that the Loganberry.  It forms very vigorous stout stems and high yields of self-fertile, sweet aromatic berries in July to mid-August.  Great for just eating off the bush, or cooked to make jams or added to salads. 

Where to Plant

Plant outdoors in summer in well-drained acid soil.  Can be used for banks and slopes, containers, hedging and screens or for cottage or informal gardens.
