Scotplants Direct - Returns Policy

Thank you for shopping with Scotplants Direct. We appreciate your custom and want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. If, for any reason, you are not happy with your order, we’re here to help.

Please note: All orders must be paid for in full at the time of purchase. By completing your order, you agree to our Terms & Conditions, including this Returns Policy. Under UK law, perishable and sourced goods (such as plants and trees) are treated differently from non-perishable goods (such as accessories and fertilisers). This policy is divided into three parts for clarity: Perishable goods (plants, trees, live stock) Sourced goods (special orders/custom stock outside our core range) Non-perishable goods (garden accessories, fertilisers, feeds, etc.)

 

1. Perishable Goods (plants and trees)

Right to Cancel

- If you cancel before your order is processed, you are entitled to a full refund, including our standard delivery costs.

Damaged or Faulty Goods

- Please inspect your plants on arrival.

- If they are damaged, faulty, or not as described, contact us within 1 working day.

- You will be entitled to a full refund, including our standard delivery costs.

- Scotplants Direct will cover the cost of returning damaged or faulty plants.

Important Notes

- Perishable goods are not covered by the 14-day cooling-off period.

- Once plants are accepted after inspection or have been planted, they cannot be returned.

- Surplus plants may not always be eligible for return. If you have ordered too many, contact us within 1 working day and we will advise if a return is possible. Return costs in this case are the customer’s responsibility.

 

2. Sourced Goods (custom/special orders)

Right to Cancel

- If you cancel before your order has been processed, and no custom sourcing has begun, you will receive a full refund, including standard delivery costs.

- Once preparation or sourcing has begun, the order becomes non-refundable.

Damaged or Faulty Goods

- Inspect goods immediately on arrival.

- If damaged or faulty, contact us within 1 working day.

- You will be entitled to a full refund, including our standard delivery costs.

- Scotplants Direct will cover the cost of returning faulty sourced goods.

Important Notes

- Sourced goods are not covered by the 14-day cooling-off period.

- If planted, these goods cannot be returned.


3. Non-Perishable Goods (accessories, fertilisers, feeds, etc.)

Right to Cancel

- If you cancel before your order has been processed, you are entitled to a full refund, including delivery costs.

- If the goods have been dispatched, you may still cancel within 14 days of receipt without giving a reason (standard cooling-off period).

Damaged or Faulty Goods

- Inspect goods on arrival and notify us within 1 working day if they are faulty.

- You are entitled to a full refund, including our standard delivery costs.

 

Returns Process

- Contact us with your name, order number, address, and details of the goods you wish to return.

- Goods must be returned in their original packaging and in the same condition as delivered.

- Return costs are your responsibility unless the goods are faulty.

- We may deduct for any loss in value due to handling beyond what is necessary.

 

Refunds

- Refunds are processed within 7 days of receiving returned goods.

- All refunds will be made via the original payment method.
