Autumnalis flowers are very prominent during this time contrasting well against the red and bronze autumn leaf tones of the Prunus Rosea.  Prunus Autumnalis is a medium growing, small to medium sized tree with branches that over hang with an ultimate height of 8m in about 15 years.  It has a wide open crown and possible parentage is Japanese weeping cherry and the Fuji Cherry trees.  Japanese Cherry Trees do well in full sun, moist, well-draining soils, such as chalk / limestone and light sandy.  They do not like waterlogged or areas that are always wet.
