Characteristics

Glen Ample Raspberry Canes are vigorous and spine free, making picking trouble free.  They produce large crops, of tasty, deep red, raspberry fruit from early July to mid August for summer fruiting.  Glen Ample is a Floricane which furits on the second year wood, When you receive your Glen Ample Canes, plant and let them grow on and in the summer they will have some fruit. It is the following year that the crops will show themselves..  You should support and tie canes onto horizontal support for more stability.  After the canes have fruited the second year after planting, then prune to about 2 inches above the ground anytime from November to January.  Glen Ample makes excellent jams and jellies, or picked fresh for delicious flavours.

Where to Plant

Plant full sun for best fruiting, can tolerate partial shade, well draining soil, slightly acidic, moist soil.  Make sure the area is not waterlogged as raspberry plants do not like to be waterlogged.
