Description

The Green Gooseberry (uva-crispa Invicta) is the most popular of the gooseberries, for pies, jams, or just eating off the bush.  The green gooseberry is one of the bees eating and cooking gooseberry, as well as the easy one to grow.  It is self-fertile, crops well, and the fruit is large, juicy and great for all cooking needs - and eating as well.  Green gooseberry bushes have good disease resistant characteristics, and they attract bees and other wildlife.

Where to Plant

Plant full sun for best fruiting results, well draining soil.  If planted in containers, be sure to water well, as plants in pots dry out very quickly.  When plating out in the garden or allotment, allow 1 per metre.
