Characteristics:
Night Sky is a brilliant neat plant with exquisite bright violet / blue flowers in trusses of about 5. It is one of the best new blue dwarf rhododendrons. Night Sky is a more unusual rhododendron as it will defoliate in the winter, but watch it bounce back with strong green leaves in the spring. Night Sky was awarded RHS Award of Garden Merit, 2013 and hardiness rating of H6. Flowering about May.
Where to Plant:
This little dwarf rhododendron will not mind full sun, but would not like much heat so avoid ‘reflected’ heat off south facing walls, patios, etc. Plant best in dappled shade, moist, well-draining acidic soil. Make sure if planting in containers, that it is well drained. Night Sky is perfect for container planting, beds and borders, small gardens.
