Where to Plant
Plant in a sheltered spot, well-draining, but moist, fertile ground, full to partial sun. Make sure you soak the rootball before planting. Place the cane in a hole that is twice the diameter of the rootball. Mix fertiliser into the planting hole at this time, either organic or general fertiliser. Raspberry canes should be about 18 inches apart in rows of about 4ft apart. Water regularly until established.
Cut all canes to ground level in winter after first crop. Remove unwanted canes in the spring.
