Where to plant
Plant in full sun or a very light shade, well draining but moist soil. Plant canes about 45cm (18in) apart in rows 1.2m apart. As these are bareroot soak the rootball before planting. Plant in hole that is twice the diameter of the root ball. Mix general fertiliser and some soil improver in the infill soil. Cover and water regularly until established.
First year cut down old canes when new shoots appear. Cut older canes back to ground level after fruiting and tie in newly produced cane and remove tips
