Rhododendron Madame Masson - Hardy Hybrid

Characteristics

Madame Masson bears impressive pure white star like flowers with a deep golden yellow blotch late May to early June.  It is a tough, reliable, evergreen hybrid with a dense well shaped growing habit making Madame Masson perfect for hedging or screening.  Awarded RHS Award of Garden Merit 2013.

Where to Plant

Plant in dappled shade, north, south or east facing, moist, well-draining slightly acidic soil, pH 4.5-6.   Rhododendrons have surface root system and fine roots, so shallow planting is recommended and a good quality ericaceous compost mixed into the soil well.  Water well during dry periods.  Fertilise with a rhododendron / azalea feed.  Ultimate height and spread in about 10-20 years – 1.5-2.5m x 1.5-2.5m.
