Decription
Rhododendron Kalinka is a yakushimanum rhododedron which are known for their slow yet compact growing habits. Kalinka flowers are a distinctive combination of light pink, deeper lilac pink frill at the flower margins with orange throat markings. Opening from almost red buds about mid-May which cover the plant. Kalinka’s dark leather, yet dark evergreen leaves will show off the spectacular flower colours that will be matchless.
Where to Plant
Plant full sun to partial shade to full shade, well-draining, moist, acid soil. Their roots will spread outward and are very shallow therefore never plant too deep. Yakushimanum rhododendrons are known for their slow, but low growing habit making them one of the more sought-after rhododendron species. Ultimate height and spread – 1-1.5m x 1-2m in about 10-15 years
