PRODUCT CODE: CM-RB-175/200
Hawthorn Hedge - Crataegus Monogyna - (175/200cm)
Description
Hawthorn produces lovely little, white flowers in Spring, that soon then turn into red haws during the Autumn. Its thorny and sharp nature makes it the ideal hedging species for creating protective barriers in gardens, too.
Birds and insects adore the plant, as the haws are seen as an ideal source of food, and the thorny, dense foliage gives the birds a lovely place to shelter and protect themselves in.
Key Features
Hawthorn is quite a hardy plant, particularly suited to coastal, exposed and windy sites, and is best maintained at a height of 5m or less - though it can grow up to a matured height of 8m tall when left to its own devices.
