Description

The most popular quick growing hedging, Golden Leylandii (Castlewellan) is tough and hardy.  Castlewellan Gold Leylandii makes a superb tall columnar specimen tree and a fast growing vigorous hedge or screen with green-yellow foliage.  Golden Leylandii hedges can grow 1m per year and when managed correctly can provide that 'instant' screening effect for privacy. It is a very versatile plant, tolerates most soil types and excellent for coastal conditions.  Leylandii will not break well from old wood, so be careful when pruning.  Ultimate height and spread - 8-10m. 

Where to Plant

Plant 75cm - 1.25cm apart for a screen or hedge or 2-3 per metre.  Likes full sun to partial shade.  Fully hardy.
