Description

Black Grass is an extraordinary evergreen perennial plant with purple-green leaves turning jet black when planted in full sun and very well draining soil.  Ophiopogon Niger more commonly known as “Black Grass”, “Black Dragon” or “Ebony Knight” is a dwarf grass perfect for borders, rock gardens or raised beds, and containers. It makes an excellent groundcover plant with its clump forming habit.  In summer small spikes of bell shaped, pale mauve flowers appear followed by small black fruit making this a spectacular and brilliant addition to any garden. Awarded RHS Award of Garden Merit. Ultimate height and spread – 0.2m x 0.2m.
