Description

Acer palmatum Bloodgood is considered one of the best purple leafed Japanese Maples.  It has a superb opulent red / purple colour that jackets its delicate lobed leaves in the spring holding throughout the summer months.  Autumn will bring a spectacular show of bright crimson or blood red colours that give this maple its name.

Where to Plant

Plant in a slightly sheltered position, moist, well-draining neutral to acid soils.  Avoid planting in heavy waterlogged areas.  Acer palmatum Bloodgood is ideal for any garden and will stand out in an upright growing habit.  It will reach an approximate height and spread of 5mx4m in about 20 years.
