Description
Photinia Red Robin is one of the most popular for alternative hedging. Photinia red robin is an extremely popular evergreen garden plant. Its bright reddish-brown young growth is very showy but comes early and can be an excellent show for gardens. Photinia hedging is tough and its showy growth begins early in spring with insignificant white flowers bringing much needed colour to gardens. Evergreen for year round screening and privacy making the perfect hedging plant.
Where to Plant
Plant full sun for best colour, will tolerate dappled shade. Soil should be slightly acidic, well draining. Water during warm temperatures. Photinia red robin is an excellent alternative to other evergreen hedging. It is very responsive to hard pruning and to shaping into pyramids, and columns. Ultimate height and spread - 2m x3m+. Plant 3-4 per metre for hedge.
