If you missed out on Bareroot - We now have Pot Grown Purple Beech (Copper Beech) a very popular hedging plant. An ideal choice for all year round colour as beech bears dark purple leaves from early Spring to Autumn turning to a coppery colour for the remainder of the Winter. Beech is tolerant of most soil types including chalk but dislikes very heavy or wet soils. Hornbeam is better for these conditions. Plant 2.5-3 plants per metre in a single row, or 4 per metre in a double staggered row for a thicker hedge.
