Characteristics

Mohave is a tough, thorny, evergreen to semi- evergreen plant with so much attitude you just have to have one!  Springtime will produce a mass of lovely white flowers followed by reddish-orange fruits from mid-August to winter.  It is ideal for espalier, barrier hedge, or use the specimen in all your difficult areas.  You will not be disappointed!

Mohave is tolerant to the diseases such as scab and fire blight It manages to be successful in almost any landscape situation.  Mohave was awarded a Certificate of Preliminary Commendation by the Council of The Royal Horticultural Society, October 1971.

Where to Plant

Mohave tolerates dry soils, but prefers sandy loam with a pH of 6.0-6.5.  Grow in full sun to partial shade although flowering and fruiting are better in full sun.  Soil should be moist, but well-draining.  Mohave is great for barrier hedging, topiary, foundation planting or specimen plant.
