PRODUCT CODE: TP-PG-20/30-P9
Western Red Cedar - Thuja plicata Pot Grown - 20/30cm
Thuja (Western Red Cedar) hedging, and specimen plants are probably the best hedging conifer for Scotland. Thuja is less vigorous then leylandii hedging, breaking from old wood, so they are easier to prune, making this a more attractive alternative to the leylandii hedging. Thuja plicata has vivid light to dark green foliage produced in showy sprays and are aromatic when crushed.
Thuja plicata also produces small cones but it is its dense foliage that makes this one of the most popular hedging conifers for its evergreen screening qualities and noise reduction capabilities.
Thuja is tolerant of heavy soils, ideal for coastal or seaside areas. Western Red Cedar is one of the more popular evergreen conifers for hedging in the UK. Fully hardy and tolerant of most soil types.
