Taxus Baccata (English Yew) Rootball Hedge Plants
Taxus baccata or English Yew has always been associated with church yards and is a true British classic hedge. They are large, with dark green foliage usually about 15m tall. They are often used for mazes, or topiary in large gardens. Yew is often kept as a hedge as they are long lasting and easy to maintain as well as adding year-round colour to the garden. English yew makes an ideal boundary hedge for small to large gardens. It is one of the better conifers for noise reduction, screening, etc. Yew is very resilient and very easy to grow.
Colourful red berries are seen on female plants in the winter providing not only food, but the dense growth will give wildlife protective shelter.
