Description

Berberis Stenophylla, tough, hardy evergreen shrub with thorns for natural security. Berberis Stenophylla is more accommodating for soil types than most. It will grow in soil types of chalk and clay, but should be well draining. Berberis is one of the best shrubs for coastal areas and Berberis Stenophylla is no exception. Tough, hardy, evergreen with tiny leathery green leaves - with spikes and thorns on the ends of the leaves and stems. Berberis can be deciduous or evergreen shrubs with spiny shoots bearing simple, often spine-toothed leaves, and small yellow or orange flowers in axillary clusters or racemes, followed by small berries

Where to Plant

Planted in full sun or partial shade, this berberis will bear masses of scented cup shaped yellow flowers in autumn followed by blue/ black berries for winter wildlife. Berberis will grow in a rounded, multi stemmed habit, making this a great specimen for hedging, screening or privacy. Ultimate height and spread about 3m x 3m.
